The Command and Control Communications (C3) Division (AXE-400) provides the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) with survivable, secure, and redundant command and control communications that assure the FAA’s ability to respond to emergencies, to assist in the minimum essential restoration of the National Airspace System (NAS), and facilitate the Continuity of Operations (COOP).

Duties

The incumbent will provide cybersecurity support to all of the aforementioned voice and data equipment stated above in the Position Summary/Introduction section. Support will include monitoring performance of C3IT and Secure Communications networks and perform analysis of network traffic patterns, network devices, network software, and executive software to proactively detect and correct errors. Support must also include the delivery, installation, re-keying, maintenance, and replacement of all phones, nodes and facsimiles in the Secure Communications Program network/environment as well as end user training and support. In this role, duties include, but are not limited to the following:

To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to FV-H (FG/GS10-12). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.----------------------------------------------------------------------SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE IS DEFINED AS:Experience providing recommendations on information systems security protocols impacting agency IT policies/programs; analyzing cybersecurity data; applying security principles to various technologies.Experience with Government Information Technology services and Information Systems.-----------------------------------------------------------------------In addition to the above, this position also has a Quality Ranking Factor (QRF). Applicants who demonstrate the specialized experience and the possession of the QRF will be placed in the Well-Qualified category:Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification or equivalent (desired but not required upon application).Knowledge of, and demonstrated experience serving as the system owner for a Government Information System.You should include relevant examples of the specialized experience in your work history.
