Duties

The United States Space Force (USSF) Headquarters Space Force Command (HQSF) at MacDill Air Force Base is searching for a Director, Personnel, Logistics, and Communications (NH-0301-04, GS 14/15 Equivalent). Description: Are you someone that wants to be part of something special? Are you wanting to help the Space Force and Special Operations grow into the Space domain to complicate U.S. adversaries goals? We are standing up a new service component to US Special Operations Command called Space Forces Special Operations Command (SPACEFORSOC). You can make history with our team as we grow from eight to twenty-three members over the next five years. This position is critical in growing the Guardians in SPACEFORSOC as well as developing the processes by which they will deploy forward to meet Special Operation objectives. The limited number of members on the team will mean you have a lot of freedom to develop the processes and coordinate with servicing staffs to support the operations and goals of SPACEFORSOC. If you want to work independently and are a proactive person this is the right job for you! You will be building a component each day and working to attack problems you feel are necessary to create a highly functioning team. Knowledge of Dept of Air Force personnel programs and processes, or where to seek assistance, to support unit members with manning. Knowledge of Dept of Air Force Logistic programs and processes, or where to seek assistance, for Global Force Management and movement of people and equipment globally. Knowledge of Dept of Air Force communication processes, or where to seek assistance, to provide appropriate communications equipment for unit members. Desired that a candidate has spent time at an Air Force Mission Support Group (MSG) level position or within a Force Support or Logistics squadron under an MSG within Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC). Key Skills and Abilities: 1. Mastery knowledge of Dept of Air Force personnel programs and processes, or where to seek assistance, to support unit members with manning. 2. Knowledge of Dept of Air Force Logistic programs and processes, or where to seek assistance, for Global Force Management and movement of people and equipment globally. 3. Knowledge of Dept of Air Force communication processes, or where to seek assistance, to provide appropriate communications equipment for unit members. 4. Skill in proactively seeking solutions and anticipating requirements. 5. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • This position is on-site and not eligible for remote or telework.
  • Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
  • Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
  • You are responsible to maintain awareness of your environmental responsibilities as dictated by legal and regulatory requirements, your organization, and its changing mission.
  • This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.
  • May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
  • PCS funding is available.
