About the Position: This position is at Letterkenny Army Depot located in Chambersburg, PA within the Directorate of Industrial Operations, Theater Missile Systems Division, System Assembly Branch, Radar Section.

Duties

Service complex electronic items by employing precise electronic principles including microminiaturized integrated circuits and theory of Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) Diagnose failures in complex electronic assemblies by interpreting documentation such as drawings and schematics. Perform electrical tests to ensure serviceability of electronic assemblies/sub-assemblies. Replace defective component parts such as, motors, relays and transistors. Operate a variety of test equipment including, signal analyzers, oscilloscopes and signal generators. Make modifications to verify precise functionality while reassembling electronic equipment.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be willing to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Must be willing to undergo a physical examination initially, and annually thereafter.
  • Must be willing to travel on Temporary Duty (TDY) up to 25% of the time.
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 40 lbs.

Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (Screen-out Element)Ability to Use Hand and Power Tools (Electronics)Ingenuity (Ability to Suggest and Apply New Methods)Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, and Repair, etc.Theory of ElectronicsTroubleshooting (Electronic Equipment)Use of Test Equipment: Electronics PHYSICAL EFFORT Work involves standing on concrete floors, bending, stooping, and kneeling, and occasionally cramped or awkward positions. Continuously handles objects weighing from 10 to 40 pounds and occasionally those weighing over 40 pounds. WORKING CONDITIONS Works in well lighted, heated and ventilated shop areas or missile sites where occasionally there is inclement weather. Subject to cuts, bruises, falls, and broken bones, and shock or burns caused by high voltage energy and soldering irons.
