This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible for conducting warfighting analyses of regional contingency plans, alternative warfighting futures and the exploration of emerging concepts and capabilities.
Duties
As a SUPERVISORY SENIOR MANAGER FOR STUDIES AND ANALYSES at the GS-0301-15 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Serves as the Supervisory Senior Manager for Studies and Analyses in the Warfighting Analysis Division (WAD).
Directs, supervises and leads teams providing for the development and review of regional contingency plans, providing direct analytic support to Combatant Command planners and connects these analyses to inform DoD senior leader priorities.
Leads Joint Force Design and Development efforts to develop, assess and advance innovative concepts and capabilities that offer senior leadership better programmatic and warfighting options.
Directs supporting mission, campaign and net analyses to develop key planning and programming insights affecting DoD strategic direction, strategic planning, contingency planning and programming.
Directs security and information technology teams that acquire, design, operate and maintain appropriate engagement, mission and campaign-level warfighting and war-supporting analytic tools in multi-level high performance computing networks.
Assigns work to subordinates based on position descriptions and work priority.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-15, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service:
Performing campaign and mission-level warfighting modeling and simulation to establish and enhance the effectiveness of war plans or planning futures, creating alternative warfighting options, informing plans and programs for the future Joint Force;
Identifying and recommending new concepts and capabilities, and providing for their inclusion in the preparation of war plans;
Directing and supervising world-class teams in a multi-security, high-performance computing environment.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
