This position is located in the Field Operations Directorate, Office of Field Operations, District 21, Baltimore, MD Field Office.
As a Supervisory Records Management Specialist, you will provide technical and administrative supervision to Records personnel throughout the Field Office.
Duties
Maintenance of the organization's DHS files and records. Responsibility for training of personnel regarding records operations, policies, and procedures. Administration of records verification operation.
Provide technical and administrative supervision to Records personnel throughout the Field Office.
Act as local Mail Facility Manager overseeing and supervising the local mailroom through subordinate supervisors.
Conduct on and off site reviews of Field Office Records operations to provide guidance, oversight and training.
Coordinate direction of the Records Management Program; collaborate with District, Region, Headquarters, and Field Offices to formulate and apply records policies, guidelines and procedures that impact the Field and other components within DHS.
Inform management of the creation, collection, storage and disposition of data and records; program compliance to laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines; external movement and maintenance of records; reconciliation and updates to systems.
May act as the Contract Officer’s Technical Representative (COTR) and manage the Contract Performance Analysis Unit (CPAU) in those locations where the Field Operations Support Services contract.
Manages and coordinates workloads through subordinate supervisors. Responsible for ensuring workloads and scheduling aligns to monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals.
Qualifications
The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 08/09/2024.
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 08/09/2024.
GS-12: You qualify at the GS-12 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Analyzing the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of administrative programs;
Serving as an adviser on records issues and making recommendations on change in policy and procedures;
Conducting extensive legal research into precedent cases, decisions and opinions on the propriety of releasing information relating to the application and petition for benefits and entitlements under the Immigration and Nationality Act.
