This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, YARD, Industrial Department in Baltimore, Maryland.
Duties
The employee will serve as the Docking Officer, who acts as a specialist and consultant in performing highly technical stability and loading functions. These functions are associated with the drydocking or land placement and transfer of vessels weighing up to 3500 tons for the purpose of construction, modernization, overhaul, conversion, and repair.Being a CG civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Qualifications
GS-13: one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal sector related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include: knowledge and experience with the principles, practices and techniques of docking and transferring of ships and of the operational requirements and characteristics of a wide variety of vessels in order to apply this knowledge to difficult problems relating to land based ship platform and drydock functions.
