You will serve as a TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST in the FACILITIES CONTROL OFFICE (N33FCO), TECHNICAL CONTROL (N33), OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT (N3) of NCTAMS PACIFIC. This position is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1599f.

Duties

You will analyze and process Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Authorized Service Interruption’s (ASIs). You will ensure ASIs are distributed to subordinate facilities for coordination following the DISA concurrence process and actively tracks ASIs through completion. You will provide service impact to regional support users and reports circuit or communications anomalies to the Chain of Command up-channeling to DISA PAC working to eliminate negative trends. You will assist in the performance of Node Site Coordinator duties as required, and conduct required maintenance. You will assist in providing centralized coordination of telephone, circuit and Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) asset management requirements. You will assist in the maintenance of cable plant records and configurations. You will make oral and written reports and presentations.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You must successfully complete a Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph with No Deception Indicated (NDI).

Qualifications

Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by: -Experience compiling and up channeling trend analysis reports to Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Pacific (PAC). -Experience installing telecommunication circuits and equipment. -Experience maintaining and terminating fiber optic and copper cable connections. -Experience providing training support on Authorized Service Interruption (ASI) and Enterprise Network Management System (ENMS) ticket completion standards. This position is within the Work Category PROFESSIONAL at Work Level FULL-PERFORMANCE, Series and Grade GG-0391-12. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
