About the Position: This position is under the control of LSC, Supply Chain Integration Directorate, Operations Division PBL . Duties
Analyzes and interprets relevant supply planning policy to ensure established objectives are met.
Applies inventory management and supply planning operations expertise to balance supply to meet forecasted demand by generating secondary item supply action recommendations.
Develops comprehensive plans that include supply system decisions that consider more than the status of an individual item or a specific problem.
Successfully demonstrates the applicable supply planning competencies and proficiencies influencing the twelve Life Cycle Logistics competency areas identified in the Life Cycle Logistics Competency Model
Plans, develops, implements, and manages effective and affordable product supply support strategies throughout the life cycle for weapons, materiel, or information systems, as addressed in applicable policy/regulatory guidance.
Integrates all known planning assumptions into the supply plan for secondary items by interfacing with demand planners, inventory specialists, order fulfillment specialists, Organic Industrial Base (OIB) program analysts.
Reviews Material Requirements Planning (MRP) inputs and coordinates with the responsible authoritative source of these inputs. Reviews and analyzes recommendations and identifies the required supply execution plan.
Uses the results of a supply plan to identify, analyze, and resolve problems as well as monitor the status and effectiveness of material support.
Validates supply forecasts, manages excess inventory and consumption plans, evaluates target stock and safety levels, conducts backorder reviews, identifies and manages get well plans, and optimizes the reverse pipeline to support repair plans.
Communicates supply health status and risks to weapons systems teams and program stakeholders to incorporate all known planning assumptions into the supply plan.
Reports status of supply execution to supply planning team leaders and other supply chain functional areas for each planning cycle and performs any out-of-cycle MRP runs when required.
Reports and documents adjustments made to supply planning inputs to improve the accuracy of forecasts.
Addresses supply planning impact to system cost, schedule, performance, life cycle management and supportability requirements in accordance with applicable repair parts (Class II and IX) supply policy in support of sustainability.
Coordinates with various stakeholders (such as the weapon system team and the systems analysts) to maintain complete and correct supply planning material master coding in the ERP system.
Supports the weapon system manager in the development and document the supply support strategy, in applicable documentation, IAW policy and regulatory guidance.
Develops, when guidelines for performing the work are scarce or of limited use, guides followed by supply specialists or other staff personnel within the organization.
Leads a team of supply planners. Ensures the command's strategic plan, mission, vision, and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans, and work products.
Articulates and communicates to the team the assignment, project, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines and time frames for completion.
Coaches the team in the selection and application of appropriate problem-solving methods and techniques, provide advice on work methods, practices, and procedures and assist the team and/or individual members.
Leads team in identifying, distributing, and balancing workload and tasks among employees per established workflow, and skill level and/or occupational specialization and making adjustments to accomplish the workload.
