This position serves as the IT Specialist (IT Asset and Configuration Management Specialist) in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OClO), Information Technology Operations and Services (ITOS), Division of IT Asset and Configuration Management.

This position is inside the bargaining unit.
Duties
Major duties include, but are not limited to:
Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software, and licenses.
Ensure compliance with federal regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies.
Monitor software licenses to ensure compliance and prevent unauthorized usage.
Identify and assess risks related to IT asset and configuration management.
Generate reports and provides insights on asset utilization, compliance, and configuration changes.
Design and maintain and implement hardware and software configurations for consistent deployment.
Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex desktop engineering issues.
Develop and implement standardized image libraries and deployment policies for efficient desktop configuration.
Ensure the system of records (ServiceNow) has accurate records for Mobile, Asset, Software and Change Management.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Candidate required to obtain the necessary security/investigation level.
- Requires a probationary period if the requirement has not been met.
Qualifications
Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
AND
Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-13, in the Federal Service.
Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled.
Qualifying specialized experience for GS-14 includes:
Experience applying advanced configuration management principles and methods sufficient to develop and implement standardized image libraries (task sequence) and deployment policies for efficient desktop configuration.
Experience in providing technical expertise and leadership in configuration management to ensure configurations are well-documented, regularly updated, and maintained.
Experience in the evaluation, design, and implementation of new technologies across the IT services environment to include all relevant desktop management and imaging services.
Experience in the evaluation, design, and implementation of security controls to mitigate desktop cyber risks in compliance with all federal mandates and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG's).
