Duties
As a Marine Transportation System Specialist (Cyber), you will be responsible for the implementation and enforcement of all hazards and cybersecurity related executive orders, acts, regulations, laws, and Coast Guard policy supporting the safety and security of ports and waterways. You will also be responsible for assisting in the implementation of policies, plans, procedures, and exercises for all cyber incidents that impact the marine environment, port security, or marine transportation.

Qualifications
TO QUALIFY FOR THE GS-12 LEVEL: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 in the Federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Examples of specialized experience include the following:
Developing cybersecurity plans, strategy, and policy to support organizational cybersecurity initiatives that support safety and security of ports and waterways.
Providing cybersecurity expertise, assistance and recommendations to protect critical port infrastructure, navigable waters, personnel, facilities, and vessels.
Conducting cybersecurity training, outreach and awareness to a variety of stakeholders to mitigate cyber risks to ports, personnel, and vessels.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
