The selectee serves as Journeyman Electronics Industrial Controls Mechanic within the Facilities Management Service/Engineering Branch at the Orlando VA Medical Center.

Duties

Include, but not limited to: Responsible for maintenance, repair, modification, calibration, and installation of all Industrial Control systems Service all circuit and electronic control systems Rebuild pneumatic and electronic controller valves, transmitters, and thermostats Install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex Direct Digital Controls Perform all preventative maintenance Installation and repair various types of air conditioning equipment Make independent judgements and decisions regarding methods and procedures for completing assignments Perform electrical safety inspections Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, Tuesday-Saturday, Sunday-Thursday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm, 1100 pm - 0730 am Position Description Title/PD#: Electronic Industrial Controls Mechanic/PD07093A Critical Skills Incentive (CSI): Not Approved Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: May be authorized for highly qualified candidate

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Selectee may frequently work in hot, humid and confined spaces around equipment and systems. Selectee must climb ladders, bend, crouch, stoop and endure prolonged periods of standing and walking. Must be able to lift parts and supplies weighing up to 40 lbs. May be required to work in areas of high temperature, cold temperature, constant noise, chemical fumes, dirt, soot, oil and grease. Work is performed inside and outside, sometimes in bad weather and cramped locations.
