The Journeyman Electronics Industrial Controls Mechanic will be responsible for the daily maintenance and operations of all Industrial Controls systems throughout the Orlando VAMC Viera Campus to include the Lake Baldwin, Lake Nona, and Lakemont campuses, off site business offices, and Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). VA employees may be required to work irregular tours of duty, including evenings and weekends in order to conduct the VA's mission.

Duties

Duties include, but are not limited to: Maintain, repair, modify, calibrate, and install all Industrial Controls systems and components. Service logic circuits and electronic controls, calibrate of pneumatic controls, rebuild pneumatic and electronic controller valves, thermostats and transmitters of pneumatic controls. Service and maintain all Direct Digital Controls and associated equipment. Install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex Direct Digital Controls and pneumatic controls systems equipment and a complete operational system (s) consisting of numerous complex integral components. Troubleshoot, adjust, repair, install and perform preventative maintenance on pneumatic and direct digital control systems to include but not limited to NCMs, NECs, FPUs, DSCs, air monitoring systems, dampers, humidity controls, pressure devices, sensors, recorders, temperature devices and valves. Create, troubleshoot, read, and make adjustments to direct digital controls systems address and programs. Perform tasks in the field of air conditioning, refrigeration, and steam distribution with special emphasis on inspection analysis and follow up. Perform overhaul, installation, maintenance, modification and repair of assurance programs and air conditioning equipment. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance inspections, systematic troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment and system components such as: pneumatic and electronic control devices, water pumps, fans, automatic steam and water regulating valves, humidifiers, compressors, gauges, switches, relays, and meters. Perform vibration analysis of major building service equipment such as circulation pumps, air handlers, cooling tower fans, medical air compressors, and vacuum pumps etc. Recommend planned maintenance and perform quality assurance follow up inspections after major repairs and overhauls. Work on large centrifugal chillers, air cooled chillers, direct exchange air cooled equipment of various sizes, large air handlers including variable speed drives. Make micro-purchases for repairs, services, parts, and all other needed materials related to the position. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, Tuesday -Saturday, or Sunday- Thursday: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.; 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.; or 11:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. Position Description Title/PD#: Electronic Industrial Control Mechanic/PD675-07903-A and PD675-07093-A Physical Requirements:Employee may frequently work in hot, humid, confined spaces around equipment and systems associated with facilities. He/she must climb ladders, bend, crouch, stoop and endure prolonged periods of standing and walking. Incumbent must lift parts and supplies weighing up to 40 lbs. Must be physically fit as work involves lifting, pulling, climbing, crawling, working with hands over head, working in confined areas, and using arm and back muscles. Incumbent must possess ability to be on feet for long periods either standing, walking, working off ladder, or staging materials, and lifting equipment.

Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
