You will serve as a PIPEFITTER LEADER in the UTILITIES & ENERGY BRANCH of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC located in Colts Neck, New Jersey.
Duties
You will analyze scheduling data to determine necessary corrective actions that will improve maintenance schedule performance.
You will develop overall shop practices for assigned pipefitting-oriented production operations.
You will direct development or formulation of work activities which support goals and objectives related to multi-trade production operations.
You will layout and plan the needed routing, placement, pitch, incline, and elevations of piping systems and equipment to achieve optimal results.
You will operate power tools (e.g., pipe threaders, pipe cutters, pipe bending machines, power augers) to accomplish pipefitting tasks.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. Management Discretion
- This position requires a physical before onboarding and annually thereafter.
- May be required to serve on-call duty on a rotational basis. When on-call, incumbent is required to carry a duty cell phone and duty pager and must remain available to respond on site to after-hour emergencies within two hours.
- The incumbent serving in this position may at any time be reassigned to a similar position at any site or workstation within the commuting area as a condition of employment.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Install, modify, and repair new and existing high-pressure piping systems and equipment such as, steam-heating, steam generation, and hydraulic systems, steam generators, flash and expansion tanks, condensate, vacuum systems, radiators and circulating pumps; 2) Plan and lay out the installation, modification, and repair of various new and existing piping systems and equipment; 3) Uses tools and equipment such as sliding squares, measuring tapes, dividers, chalk lines, plumb bobs, templates, star drills, grinders, flanges, hand and power pipe threaders and cutters, and pipe wrenches; and 4) Motivate and lead other workers in accomplishing the work of the unit, and to communicate effectively to brief the supervisor and pass on instructions and work methods and procedures to the team.
