You will serve as a ENGINEER TECHNICIAN (NUCLEAR) in the Corporate Radiological Training Branch (Code 2360.3), Fleet Maintenance and Radiological Support Division (FMRSD) (Code 2360), Nuclear Engineering and Planning Department (Code 2300), of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will serve as a team leader in the facilitation of training development teams of corporate customer process owners, subject matter experts, and others in the performance of corporate training development.
You will plan and organize the work, determines possible sources of information, and conducts analysis.
You will develop finished products including lesson plans, training texts, videos, programmed texts, or computer aided instruction.
You will facilitate phone conferences regularly with training development team members for team building, development, and approval of training products.
You will coordinate and consult with numerous headquarters and corporate customer departments and codes and with individuals at all organizational levels.
You will serve as a consultant to shipyard management and other organizations inside and outside of the shipyard involving his/her areas of specialization.
You will provide engineering and technical assistance concerning quality assurance matters to corporate activities assigned to support reactor and propulsion plant maintenance.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
GS-12
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience developing, reviewing, and revising instructional materials for courses.
Experience developing lesson plans, computer aided instructions, and training texts to support radiological monitoring, nuclear engineering and planning, and production for various departments.
Experience consulting entities on the theory, design, and operation of the various mechanical components of a pressurized water reactor plant and naval nuclear plant technology with comprehensive and practical knowledge.
Experience providing immediate technical assistance to the corporation to resolve emergent radiological controls and health physics problems of a complex nature.
GS-11
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience developing, reviewing, and revising instructional materials for courses.
Experience developing lesson plans, computer aided instructions, and training texts to support radiological monitoring, nuclear engineering and planning, and production for various departments.
Experience providing engineering and technical assistance in the areas of cleanliness, accountability, procedure preparation, procedure standardization, material controls, Submarine Safety Certification Program, component and system testing, audit program, qualification, training, primary valve operations, and radiological controls.
Experience supporting engineering technical work in support of a pressurized water reactor plant and naval nuclear plant technology with comprehensive and practical knowledge.
