You will serve as a Equipment Specialist in the Aeronautical Ship Installation Representative (ASIR) SURPAC located in the SE & ALRE Group, ALRE Department, Fleet Technical Services Division, ASIR SURFPAC Branch, Code BL15200 of the Naval Air Warfare Center, A/C Division, Lakehurst (NAWCADLKE) with a duty station of San Diego, CA. of NAVAIRWARCENADLKE.
Duties
You will communicate in writing to interact with a ship's force, contractors, mechanics, engineers, managers, and co-workers to convey technical issues.
You will complete written assignments to support project or program processes.
You will discuss issues with other organizations to resolve inquiries or concerns
You will input information directly into maintenance databases for ordering job materials

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to sign a mobility agreement to accept relocation to other geographic locations if required by the employer.
- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following 1. Assisting in providing technical guidance in planning and conducting inspections, technical assistance visits, and Work Package Definition Inspection (WPDI) visits. 2. Planning tasks include reviewing ships class plans, ship alterations, service changes and technical manuals to ensure certification standards are correct and recommendations are accurate. 3. Preparing naval messages defining status of repairs underway (Situation Report or Casualty Correction), which inform operational commanders of the mission capability of the ship or activity. 4.Adding input to technical reports covering all assignments, outlining conditions found, difficulties encountered, corrective action taken and recommendations for improving the reliability of the equipment. 5.Accompanying ships at sea and/or visits permanent and temporary airfields to assist in the inspection of API systems/equipment for satisfactory performance.
