Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As an IT Cybersecurity Specialist (PLCYPLN/INFOSEC), you will use your knowledge of and experience with the Office of the Chief Information Officer's Office of Information Security to optimize business results and customer experience by: Leads research, coordination, and diversifying communication approaches in line with the current trends and needs of promoting products and services in support of the Office of Information Security's cybersecurity priorities. Develops marketing and communications plans, prepares metrics and data for communications projects, and provides consultation and assistance to customers' requests. Assists the branch chief in special projects and with other communications tasks as assigned, and in handling contract support.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Basic Requirement: individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND Specialized Experience: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service that includes performing at least three (3) of the following: Evaluating an organization's needs to determine the most effective methods, including digital platforms (e.g., social media) to deliver general cybersecurity information based on a target audience and customer needs. Coordinating initiatives such as strategic planning, communications, and collaborative forums to strengthen engagement with cybersecurity and privacy stakeholders. Providing seasoned communications and engagement subject matter expertise in consideration of strategic messaging, gathering, and coordinating input from required sources and leadership, and following appropriate information dissemination protocols when responding to internal and external inquiries about HHS' cybersecurity and privacy initiatives, activities, and operations. Applying advanced communications techniques and methodologies to promote effective communication and customer engagement that facilitates seamless information flow among stakeholders, fostering collaboration, the exchange of ideas, and important updates.
