About the Position: Serves as a Housing Management Specialist within the Housing AFH Branch, Army Installation Management Command IMCOM HQ, G-4 Public Works Housing, located at Fort Sam Houston, TX.
Duties
Skill in the identification and application of the latest concepts and techniques in managing housing programs to develop, appraise and extend housing policies to new and unprecedented studies, and to prepare management advisories on such studies.
Interpreting, adapting, and improving applicable policies and regulations and in developing new, unique, or improved management criteria or methodology where existing guidelines are lacking in content or applicability.
Provides advisory services to management and technical personnel and public and private institutions regarding use of housing programs.
Presenting IMCOM goals and objectives at professional conferences or committees convened to plan long range programs and develop standards and guides for broad activities.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes application of housing management principles, concepts, and methodology to a variety of difficult and complex work assignments involving the full range of activities such as operations and maintenance, assignments and utilization, periodic inspections, new construction and modernization, and related functional areas, ensuring the efficient and effective use of housing programs and community assets. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12 or above).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-???????12).
