The primary purpose of this position is under the supervision of the Facility Management office (A4CM); A4C Division Chief; A4 Directorate and under general direction of a work leader. Serves as escort for visitors requiring access to the (SCIF) areas of the HQ 16 AF complex for such purposes and not limited to miscellaneous maintenance and repairs in buildings 2000 and 2007.
Duties
Acts as Controlled Access Monitor at entrances to the HQ 16 AF complex. Instructs visitors on security requirements, specifically those relating to the necessity of wearing badges and removal of all electronic devices prior to entering the facility,
Escorts personnel that do not have the required security clearances/accesses while in the HQ 16 AF facilities, including both the collateral areas and Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF)
Receives and answers requests for information pertaining to building and office locations, locations of personnel, and other related items within HQ 16 AF buildings. Instructs visitors on security requirements, especially those relating to prohibited items and the necessity of wearing entry credentials at all times while on the secured areas.
Perform Administrative Duties. As determined by the work leader or supervisor, may be required to assist the Facility Management office answering telephones and receiving visitors, giving routine information, referring callers to appropriate staff members for specific information, or assisting with cleanup of work areas.

- Position is designated special-sensitive and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
- The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
- Most work is performed within a climate controlled building, but some is performed out of doors in the elements. Some walking is required to escort visitors to their work site.

- Shift work and emergency overtime may be required
- Employee must maintain current certifications.
Qualifications
This is a GG-03 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-03 duties for the "Technician/Administrative Support" work category are at the "Entry/Developmental" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-03 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
In order to qualify, you must meet the general experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Position.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Applicants must have at least 6 months of general experience. Examples of general experience include progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled, such as procedural knowledge of issuing appropriate entry credential and basic rules for those individuals being
escorted. Basic knowledge of security processes and procedures, and general clerical office functions. Familiarity with operating a basic personal computer and application usage. Ability to instruct visitors on security requirements, especially those relating to the necessity of wearing badges. Knowledge of simple, routine or repetitive tasks of operation security procedures to ensure those being escorted enter only authorized, secure areas. Ability to follow step-by-step instructions and requiring little or no training or experience.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Basic knowledge of security procedures & regulations to perform duties on the security escort program.
2. Basic knowledge of how to apply security principles, concepts and practices concerning facilities, utility systems, supporting equipment and service operations.
3. Basic knowledge of safety and environmental guidance and regulations to ensure compliance with established programs.
4. Basic knowledge of facility management duties and AF civil engineer processes to ensure proper work requirement identification & reporting.
5. Ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing.
6. Basic knowledge of intrusion detection and access control systems; familiarity with the routine operations of reproduction equipment, and general clerical and office functions and procedures
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED:
Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
