This position is a Detail NTE 120 Days.
This position is located at the VA Illiana Healthcare System, Danville, IL and is organizationally aligned under the Directors Office, Communications and Engagement team. The purpose of the position is to perform a broad range of activities necessary to maintain and support communications efforts across VA Illiana Healthcare System.
Duties
Major Duties:
Creates, designs and reproduces posters, flyers, brochures and booklets for facility services pertaining to patient and staff education and information. These products range from simple to complex and most are performed via computer, scanner, laser, coper and/or a color and copy machine.
Produces graphic displays to include cutting, mounting and laminating.
Sets up, programs, and operates a computerized, high volume copier.
Responsible for equipment on the Equipment Inventory Listing (EIL).
Develops and promotes resourcefulness in helping patients and staff, exercising patience and resolving problems to enhance patient and customer satisfaction.
Effectively communicates to assure customers are adequately informed of requirements and expectations.
Maintains inventory needed for duplication throughout the health care system and keeps supervisor informed of all inventory needs in advance of stock depletion.
Develops and promotes resourcefulness in helping patients and staff, exercising patience and resolving problems to enhance patient and customer satisfaction.
Identifies and reports problems which negatively impact patient treatment and/or public relations in a timely manner through appropriate supervisory chain of command.

Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-04 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: performs work in visual arts projects, learn information objectives of projects, participates in planning of visual aspects of publications or presentations, knowledge of general format and specific themes to be illustrated are predetermined. Selects photos, illustrations or other visual materials.OR,
Education: Applicants may substitute education for the experience required. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree OR,
Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond the second year. Transcripts Required.

Physical Requirements: : The work includes standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting, twisting, occasionally carrying up to 50 pounds and sitting at a computer terminal for extended periods of time.
