About the Position: You will serve as a Supervisory Inventory Management Specialist over supply planning, demand planning, sourcing, order fulfillment, or distribution functions in Army Materiel Command (AMC).

Duties

Plans and assigns work to be accomplished by subordinates, establishing priorities, and preparing schedules for completion. Leads the team in identifying, distributing or balancing workload/tasks among employees in accordance with established occupational specialization. Collaborates with heads of other units to solve multi-functional complex problems. Formulates organizational plans for functional responsibility by determining requirements, staffing, and budgeting. Oversees employees in at least one of the following functions: supply planning. Anticipates problems, develops sound solutions and action plans to ensure program/mission accomplishment. Periodically reviews position structure of supervised workgroup to ensure optimum balance between economy, efficiency, and skill utilization. Initiates personnel actions, interviews candidates for positions, and makes recommendations and/or selections for appointments, promotions, or reassignments. Analyzes information to make decisions and achieve functional unit objectives. Introduces and/or implements innovative approaches to resolve unusual/difficult issues significantly impacting important policies or programs. Promotes and maintains environment of cooperation and teamwork. Communicates results and issues to leadership. Guides, motivates, and oversees the activities of individuals and teams with focus on project/ program issues. Assumes ownership of processes and products, as appropriate. Establishes reporting techniques to foresee any potential problems in Supply control. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates and adjust short-term priorities to ensure timely completion of scheduled work.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance for the duration of employment.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel away from your permanent duty station requirement of up to 10% of the time.
  • Selectees must meet position requirements for certification at Level 3 (Advanced) in the Acquisition Career Field - Life Cycle Logistics within 48 months of entrance on duty.
  • A one-year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • This position has a Data Analytics requirement. The incumbent must meet all requirements for Data Analytics level one (1) certification within 12 months of being placed on the position.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service NH-02 (or GS-11 equivalent).
