About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Fort Eisenhower, Georgia.
Duties
Organizes social and protocol arrangements for official presentations and events, including honors, awards, retirements, and assumption of command ceremonies.
Develops policies to oversee and implement protocol, social and associated public relations activities for the CCOE.
Monitors expenditures for propriety and maintains records regarding expenditures for social and protocol events.
Advises the Commanding General, CCOE and other general officers assigned to the installation on all matters related to protocol and military etiquette.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationship with staff at both HQ, TRADOC and the liaison offices of the Department of the Army for disseminating and receiving information as it pertains to CCoE plans and programs.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A pre-employment and recurring comprehensive background investigation
- that includes, but is not limited to, contact with all references, employers, co-workers, personal associates, and a review of your driving record, credit history, criminal history, and military service are required.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Appointment to this position does not confer competitive status.
- Prior to appointment applicants are required to sign a statement indicating they understand the conditions of employment or assignment to the position and acknowledge the consequences of failing to meet and maintain those required conditions.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a three year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in DoDI 1400.25 V3005,
- Cyber Excepted Service, Employment and Placement. While serving a probationary period the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- This position requires unusual hours (may work nights and/or weekends).
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

This position is in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe One Year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by 1. Plans and Schedules conferences for both national and international visitors for the command. (Such as itineraries compatible with the scope of the visit to included social events, hosts, ceremonies, briefings, transportation, billeting and escort officers.) 2. Maintains communication through phone or written response necessary for resolving complex and sensitive issues. 3. Organizes events that included honors, rewards, and retirement for the organization. 4. Maintains records regarding expenditures for social and protocol events. 5. Supervise and develop a workforce for the command.
