About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Army Cyber Command, Chief of Staff, Fort Eisenhower, GA.
Duties
Evaluates the work of private and public organizations dedicated to Defense studies, and advises CG of the content, supporting and countering views and develops potential integrating strategies.
Acts as action officer for establishing senior advisory groups composed of recognized experts from across many organizations to support the Commander's formulation of engagement strategies and inter/multiple agency coordination and cooperation.
Establishes milestones and completion timelines, conducts in progress reviews, and ensures that the quality of the final product meets or exceeds the standards set by the CG.
Provides substantive analysis, as directed, of pertinent topics to support the Commander’s requirements for situational awareness and in-depth understanding of specific issues.
Develops, initiates, and implements processes used to prepare the Commander for travel itineraries that involve official meetings, office calls, and formal social engagements.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Position is designated Special-Sensitive therefore the employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a SSBI background investigation for access to Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI).
- This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. The incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R and must pass urinalysis testing prior to appointment, reassignment or transfer and periodically thereafter.
- One-year supervisory probationary period may be required.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one-year specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by performing expert analysis of Signal, Cyber, and Electronic Warfare (i.e. emerging doctrine, organizational design and force structure and management) to identify issues of contemporary and future impact on the command; conducting communications and/or information technology operational planning to support the Commander's formulation of engagement strategies; developing coordinated and integrated plans for achievement of goals outlining efficient and seamless execution.
