Duties
You will implement changes to improve program operations and effectiveness
You will organize and present workshops on subject of interest in the employment field.
You will organize special events, such as Job Fairs and Career Days as needed focusing on employment opportunities for transitioning military members and their families
You will provide career counseling to military family members having difficulty finding local employment.
You will prepare special narrative and statistical reports concerning family member employment and transition services
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- The work includes everyday risks and discomforts typical of offices and meeting rooms. Duties
require travel to different offices on the installation and in the local area as well as to conferences
or training.
- Completion of TAP Instructor Training and attendance of a DOD Pre-Separation Counselor
Training course is highly desired.
- Successful completion of Certified Workforce Development Professional (CWDP) certification
is highly desired.
- The incumbent of this position is or may be assigned duties involving solitary contact with
unmarried individuals below the age of 18.
- the incumbent must be able to successfully complete a five year scope NACI, a FBI Fingerprint Check, and State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) checks of all states of residence during the five year period listed on employment forms.
- Until the background checks have been completed, the incumbent cannot be in the presence of an unmarried individual unless they are under direct supervision from someone who has passed the background checks.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Identify job openings in the local vicinity and help individuals find positions that are applicable for them. Organize events such as job fairs and career days to increase employment opportunities. Provide counseling to military family members having difficulty finding employment and introduce alternate career objectives and develop new skills. Prepare reports and special narratives regarding family member employment and transition services.

Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
or
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
or
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
Education
2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree
