You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MIL/OA) in the Installation Personnel Administration Center (IPAC) of MARINE CORPS RECRUIT DEPOT.
This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Duties
You will provide assistance, information, and administrative support to the Marines, Sailors, and civilian personnel assigned to the Depot.
You will prepare unit diaries timely and accurately; reconcile Unit Diary Feedback Reports; conduct audits of service records; generate, validate and take corrective action on rosters obtained from the Marine Core Total Force System (MCTFS).
You will provide technical automated data retrieval support; receive, interpret and disseminate technical and systems information pertaining to Marine Corps Data Network, MCTFS and Operational Data Store Enterprise.
You will track and join inbound permanent personnel, join and access recruits; service record book audit, create recruit records as they arrive and update permanent personnel records as required.
You will maintain and audit service records, verify documents are incorporated in the Official Military Personnel File; verify that units are submitting Junior Enlisted Performance Evaluation System Marks on required occasions.
You will be responsible for tracking and reporting all mandatory training events for recruits via Unit Diary.
You will prepare documents required for separation to include DD Form 214, NAVMC 11116, NAVMC 11060, Miscellaneous Action Notice, travel/discharge orders, letters of appreciation.
You will ensure uniformed service members receive Department of Defense benefits which they are entitled to.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You may be required to lift and/or carry loads/items up to 40 pounds in weight, including boxes of paper.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- This position may be required to work nights Monday through Thursday, between 1800-0600, for a 10 hour work day. These personnel are entitled to night differential pay.
- This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector Performing procedural and clerical work to support military personnel programs, operations, and functions (e.g., training, separation, etc.).
