You will serve as a PROGRAM ANALYST in the Programs and Integration Division (PID) of DON/AA.
Duties
You will analyze conference packages for completeness, review conference agendas and identify questionable events/speakers, contact and resolve all issues with submitting organizations, and notify commands via email and the Navy Taskers system.
You will validate estimated conference costs, enter conference data into the DOD Conference Reporting Tool, update cost estimates with estimated actuals, and serve as an audit liaison for DON/AA between audit organizations.
You will interpret guidance from the DOD and DON, conduct research on non-DOD organizations hosting conferences, draft proposed approval/disapproval letters, and draft portions of the DON Operating Guide for conference management.
You will log/record incoming requests and approval/disapproval decisions into Excel and/or Access, prepare weekly and monthly reports on conferences requests, prepare conference briefings, and manage conference request files.
You will make suggestions for improvements to standard letters and the management of conference requests, update the DON/AA conference website, brief DON/AA on conferences/daily briefings, and provide trainings/briefings, as necessary.
You will assist with identifying and correcting internal control weaknesses and accomplishments as part of the Managers' Internal Control Program (MICP).
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
GS-12: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector such as:
Experience applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of Conference Program operations.
Experience analyzing and managing conference package requests for various types of conferences to include reviewing packages for accuracy, determining travel costs, estimating conference attendance, conducting conference data calls, preparing conference packages for approval.
Experience validating/reporting all required conferences per instructions/guidance.
GS-11: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector such as:
Experience applying policy guidance to assist with conference requests per policy guidance.
Experience assisting with identifying issues or problems with conference submissions.
Experience working with and applying ancillary guidance such as Joint Travel Regulations, budget guidance, gift process, and requirements.
