Duties
Implements and administers the Special Access Program which includes processing program access requests, updating required security databases and participation in security inspections.
Implements and administers the Personnel Security, Information Security, and Physical Security Programs for the Agency. Establishes procedures for processing requests for security clearances for civilian and contractor personnel.
Implements DoD and Agency policies and develops procedures for the classification and protection of classified national security and other sensitive information. Implements security education and awareness programs.
Leads and/or participates in strategic planning initiatives for the Agency's security programs. Recommends changes, expansion or revisions to Agency instructions, guidance material and internal security standard operating procedures.
Provides advisory services to management concerning the application or interpretation of security policies, rules, regulations, procedures and practices.
Requirements

- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- Drug Testing: This is a drug testing designated position. You must pass a drug test before your assignment to this position and you will be subject to random drug testing subsequent to your assignment.
- Pay for first time hires to the Federal Government will typically be set at step 1 salary range for their respective grade level.
- Telework availability will be based upon the mission requirements and supervisory determination.
Qualifications
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-11 within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience must be documented in your resume. Specialized experience: is experience applying security concepts, principles and practices to administer and implement a security program, resolving security issues, and responding to questions regarding security guidelines; Experience providing day-to-day safeguards and security oversight including the protection and control of sensitive or classified information, ensuring compliance and performance through assessments, analysis, review of incidents and events, and corrective actions/issues; Experienced in implementing policies and procedures required to manage sensitive information programs and to protect sensitive information resources; Experience in implementing policies and procedures required to manage and protect special access programs; Utilizing a variety of standard security equipment, systems, and devices.
