Duties
Implements and administers the Special Access Program which includes processing program access requests, updating required security databases and participation in security inspections.
Implements and administers the Personnel Security, Information Security, and Physical Security Programs for the Agency. Establishes procedures for processing requests for security clearances for civilian and contractor personnel.
Implements DoD and Agency policies and develops procedures for the classification and protection of classified national security and other sensitive information. Implements security education and awareness programs.
Leads and/or participates in strategic planning initiatives for the Agency's security programs. Recommends changes, expansion or revisions to Agency instructions, guidance material and internal security standard operating procedures.
Provides advisory services to management concerning the application or interpretation of security policies, rules, regulations, procedures and practices.

Qualifications
You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
You must meet the minimum qualification requirements as stated in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Operating Manual, Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, http://www.opm.gov/qualifications/Standards/group-stds/gs-prof.asp.
Specialized Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 or equivalent level. Specialized experience must be documented in your resume.Specialized experience is experience applying security concepts, principles and practices to administer and implement a security program, resolving security issues, and responding to questions regarding security guidelines; Experience providing day-to-day safeguards and security oversight including the protection and control of sensitive or classified information, ensuring compliance and performance through assessments, analysis, review of incidents and events, and corrective actions/issues; Experienced in implementing policies and procedures required to manage sensitive information programs and to protect sensitive information resources; Experience in implementing policies and procedures required to manage and protect special access programs; Utilizing a variety of standard security equipment, systems, and devices.
