About the Position: The U.S. Military Academy, West Point, NY is located in the Hudson River Valley, 50 miles from New York City. The site is the oldest continuously occupied military post in America. West Point is a self-contained city. You have access to Eisenhower Hall Theater, performing arts center, and recreational facilities.

Duties

Serves as Military Personnel/Human Resource Assistant and performs duties as involving the preparation and processing military actions. Maintain and security sensitive documents and files, i.e., Military Personnel Records, Passport and Visa’s, Reassignments, Awards, Promotion, Personnel Actions, Separation documents, IPPS-A, SRP, ID Cards/DEERS, Casualty Documents etc. Review and analyze case files involving requests for correction of military records, including those with complex and controversial issues. Examine and/or process both routine and non-routine military personnel action documents using experience in applying military personnel procedures and policies. Responsible for the accuracy, operation, and interface of a variety of automated systems supporting military personnel functions and operations. Responds to various questions from both internal and external customers, subordinates, and managers for readily available information that can be obtained from file material or governing directives. Perform a wide variety of tasks pertaining to military personnel and records.

  • Must possess or obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
