Duties

You will plan and deliver a full array of support services to meet customer requirements. You will be responsible for working directly with the customer and stakeholders to solve technical problems and provide technical support, both in a distance and onsite (travel) capacity. You will apply a wide range of concepts, practices, regulations, policies, and analytical and diagnostic techniques to develop new or modified work methods, approaches, and procedures. You will provide comprehensive management advisory and technical services on substantive functions and practices. You will identify, evaluate, and recommend solutions to resolve complex interrelated issues. You will formulate and present findings, briefings, project papers, and correspondence to foster understanding and acceptance of findings and recommendations. You will serve in the Common Submarine Radio Room (CSRR) utilizing knowledge and experience to support the design, installation, upgrades and testing of CSRR equipment.

Requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code (441), proficiency level (2) the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing comprehensive management advisory and technical services; experience in applying a wide range of concepts, practices, regulations, AND policies to recommend solutions to resolve complex issues. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
