This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Program Operations and Local Engagement (OPOLE), Exchange Customer Solutions Group (ECSG).
As a Supervisory Health Insurance Specialist, GS-0107-14, you will resolve exchange casework issues and handle inquiries from Federally Facilitated Exchange consumers, and other program stakeholders.
Duties
Direct the work of health insurance specialists, social science research analysts, public health analysts, administrative support assistant, and Commissioned Corps staff.
Oversee the processing of casework and account management trends and systemic issues, balance workload amongst staff, and ensure that significant concerns are reported in a timely fashion to the OPOLE/DHPO Deputy Group Director or designee.
Help identify knowledge gaps in the health care community and recommend areas of focus and opportunity for coordinated outreach to DHPO/LEA.
Facilitate regional representation and/or participate directly on national workgroups focused on improving program policy and operations.
Support OPOLE/Local Engagement and Administration (LEA) in its administration of the Agency-wide outreach and education strategies.

In order to qualify for the GS-14, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:
(1) Managing casework and stakeholder inquiries to identify opportunities to improve the customer experience and strengthen ACA programs;
(2) Leading or supervising others through assigning, prioritizing and reviewing work; AND
(3) Making decisions or recommendations to improve existing ACA or other managed health care program operations.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
