About the Position: Under the general direction of the Director, Communication Directorate, perform strategic planning relating the Army and TRADOC annual plan which is comprised of the Army Vision, Strategic Plan, Army Program Guidance Memorandum, Army Planning Guidance, and the Army Campaign Plan. Ensure operational and strategic communication planning issues are fully coordinated. Serve as advisor to and representative of the Director and Deputy Director, TRADOC Communication Directorate.

Duties

This list is not all-inclusive: Support critical issues associated with the development, planning, management, assessment, and implementation of engagement plans and strategies in support of the communications directorate. Participate in DA and HQ TRADOC conferences, workshops, briefings, and Teams meetings to effect transforming the Army by planning and monitoring The Army Plan and The TRADOC Plan. Prepare, integrate, and assess material for the Communication Directorate to communicate current and future training, engagements, and leader development themes and messages. Serve as an advisor to and representative of the director and deputy director, TRADOC Communication Directorate for all executive outreach efforts. Maintain consistent contact and coordination with TRADOC Core Functional Leads, relevant HQDA staff, and other HQ TRADOC staff elements to ensure synchronization/execution of communication responsibilities in a timely manner. Develop intermediate objectives and associated essential tasks required to execute major Army Plan and TRADOC Plan campaign objectives. Serve on HQ TRADOC study teams, working groups, engagement groups, and responds to a variety of quick turnaround point papers, assessments read-aheads, and briefings to support special projects and taskers. Research, coordinate, and prepare briefings for HQ TRADOC and the Directorate to convey TRADOC's current and future communication initiatives, training. leader development themes and messages, and plan synthesis to senior Army leadership, and others.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Secret security clearance.
  • This position may require the incumbent to work other than normal duty hours which may include overtime, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • This position may require temporary duty (TDY) for business up to 10% of the time.

For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. DO NOT SUBMIT EDUCATION TRANSCRIPTS; THEY WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Please see the specific instructions regarding supporting documentation for Time in Grade requirements in the REQUIRED DOCUMENTS section, below. NOTE: Applicants must meet all Time-in-Grade requirements and experience requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
