You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST of INFOWARTRACMD CORRY STATION PENSACOLA.

Duties

You will conduct searches in investigative databases. You will collaborate with leadership to define, validate, and justify security resource requirements throughout the life cycle. You will maintain Personnel Security accounts to verify documentation is received for access to classified materials. You will advise management on matters concerning reinvestigation requirements. You will formulate written responses to justify modifications to programs or systems.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications

GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assists in Security clearance background investigations, reporting and submissions; 2) Possesses computer literacy skills in all Microsoft Office applications; 3) Assists in determining eligibility for access to classified or sensitive information; and 4) Provides lectures on personnel security clearance background investigations. GS-07 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Oversees Security clearance background investigations, reporting and submissions; 2) Utilizes computer literacy skills in all Microsoft Office applications; 3) Advises on personnel security policies and related matters and impact of personnel security requirements on organizational missions; 4) Presents various security awareness lectures and personnel security indoctrinations and debriefs; and 5) Determines status of ongoing investigations and resolves any problems with regard to personnel security information. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
GS-9
I have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree. Or I have successfully completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree.
