Duties

This position is located in the Office of Enforcement Programs and Services, Firearms and Explosives Industry Division, Explosives Industry Programs Branch in Huntsville, AL. Serving as an Explosives Enforcement Specialist in the Explosives Industry Programs Branch in the Firearms and Explosives Industry Division of Enforcement and Program Services (EPS). Qualifications

To qualify for GS-14, candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-13. Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume. Examples of specialized experience include: Experience applying the laws, rules, regulations, court decisions, policies and procedures affecting the industries regulated by the Bureau; AND Demonstrated knowledge of the Bureau's operations, mission and the complex procedures involved in the administration of explosives/enforcement programs; AND Experience communication orally and in writing in order to prepare and present study findings, which may contain sensitive and/or potentially controversial results, AND Experience possessing tact and diplomatic skills in order to convey results to Management officials, DOJ representatives, members of Congress, Industry members and the general public Please do not cut and paste the position description, specialized experience, or occupational assessment questionnaire from this announcement into your resume, as this will not be considered a demonstration of your qualifications for this position.
