This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Responsible for supervising, training, and developing a team of military and civilian mutlimedia visual information subject matter experts to support activities necessary to meet Chairman Joint Chief of Staff priorities through personal/electronic engagement at the senior level with the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Joint Staff Directorates, Services, Combatant Commands (CCMD), and interagency partners.

Duties

As a SUPERVISORY OPERATIONS BRIEFING SPECIALIST at the GS-1001-14 some of your typical work assignments may include: Responsible for all phases of work direction, oversight, management and supervision of the Deputy Directorate for Current and Integrated Operations, Operations Briefing Branch's personnel, operations and resources. Plans, prepares, and conducts a wide range of complex, high pressure, fast-paced and high-level priority special assignments and projects, which involve extensive research and fact finding to develop visual communication objectives. Directs design teams on the content of visual information products; directs production teams that produce original overall designs; and maintains the highest quality of products on large-scale projects. Organizes and leads preparatory sessions providing consultation with General and Flag Officers to ensure visual information content and the method of presenting achieves their goals and objectives. Plans and assigns work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term/long­-term priorities, and directs actions of subordinate personnel to coordinate planning, development and execution of MMNI operations.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Creditable specialized experience includes: Directs, facilitates, and/or create briefings, presentations, brochures, posters, and electronic information in various forums to convey information furthering the Department of Defense and Joint Staff vision, mission and goals. Supervises, directs, develops, manages and evaluates a team of Multimedia/Visual Information subject matter experts comprised of civilian and military personnel. Applies a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to provide assessment and improvement of complex Multimedia/Visual Information processes and systems and to ensure mission objectives are met. Acquires and administers human, financial, material, and information resources to accomplish the organization's mission, and to use new technology to enhance decision making. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
