About the Position: Serve as a Procurement Analyst in the Savannah District providing advice to management, contracting officers, contract specialists.

Duties
Review and recommend revisions to procurement policy and regulations.
Prepare timely and accurate responses to data calls from higher level authorities.
Provide reviews and support for acquisition planning documents and source selection activities.
Performs contract file compliance reviews and periodic
Conducts periodic reviews contracts and purchase actions by evaluating for compliance with acquisition regulations and policies.
Manage the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) program by evaluating qualifications and making recommendations for approval.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Foundational Career Level Certification or Contracting Professional Certification must be met within 3 years.
- Advanced Career Level Certification must be met within 4 years.
- Practitioner Career Level Certification must be met within 5 years.
- This is a Defense Acquisition Workforce (AWF) position.

Basic Requirement for Contract Specialist:
Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees.
OR
Exemption: You are exempt from the education requirements above if (A) you are a current civilian employee in DoD who occupied GS-1102 positions or contracting positions with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000.
OR
(B) you are a current military member who occupied a similar occupational specialty to the GS (or equivalent)-1102 on or before September 30, 2000.In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes Performing the following responsibilities: Reviewing, analyzing, and making recommendations for improvements in acquisition planning documents; reviewing and making recommendations for changes on higher level policy and procedures; drafting and vetting local acquisition procedures. advanced knowledge of federal acquisition regulation system and agency policies; participating and determining compliance on peer reviews and contract file reviews, developing and providing training, working knowledge of contract writing systems and supporting online acquisition portals and systems.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
