This position is part of the Bonneville Power Administration , Department of Energy. As a Student Trainee (Public Utilities Specialist), you will serve in a developmental capacity, as a Project Manager directly responsible to the Business Transformation Officer management for all aspects leading to the successful implementation and completion of assigned projects.
Duties
As a Student Trainee (Public Utilities Specialist), you will:
Serves as project support responsible for directly supporting senior program and project managers in activities related to BPA's Market Initiatives exploration and participation.
Determine appropriate products or services with sponsors or stakeholders to define project scope requirements, and deliverables.
Assist in the design or conduct analytical studies, cost-benefit analyses, or other research.
Purchase or contract for services, equipment, products, supplies, property, or other items.
Monitor project activities and resources to mitigate risk.
Assist higher level specialists in making improvements, solving problems, or taking corrective action when problems arise.
Give presentations or briefings on all aspects of the project.
Participate in phase, milestone, and final project reviews.
Qualifications
BASIC REQUIREMENT:
Currently enrolled in an accredited college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, and trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate.
GS-03: To qualify, you must have completed 1 academic year of post-high school education. (1 full academic year is equivalent to 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours.)
GS-04: To qualify, you must have completed 2 full academic years of post-high school study OR an associate's degree.
GS-05: To qualify, you must have completed 4 academic years of post-high school education leading to a bachelor's degree OR a bachelor's degree.
Note: 1 full academic year is equivalent to 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience.
Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education
Education Requirements:
Your educational goals must include obtaining a professional degree in business or a related field.
You must submit a copy of your current transcripts with major being pursued for proof of education and enrollment. If you are not currently enrolled, but have been accepted for future enrollment you must submit a copy of your acceptance letter with your application.
