This position is located within the Strategic Delivery & Oversight (NSSS), Contracts and Strategic Sourcing (NSS) organization, Supply Chain Services (NS), Chief Administrative Office (N), Bonneville Power Administration (BPA).
The purpose of this position is to serve as a Student Trainee receiving on-the-job training (OJT) in the procurement of supplies, services, construction or research and development.
Duties
**If selected, you will be required to report physically to the official reporting worksite (Portland, OR or Vancouver, WA) as specified by the supervisor, but no less than 2 days per pay period.**
As a Student Trainee (Contracting), you will receive intensive formal and on-the-job instruction and training that includes performing a variety of tasks designed to provide familiarity with the organizations programs, projects, and functions; familiarity with pertinent manuals, policies, and procedures; and experience in the application of basic contracting principles, theories, and practices relevant to the work performed by BPA. Typical tasks include the following:
Qualifications
BASIC REQUIREMENT: Currently enrolled in an accredited college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, and trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate.
GS-04: To qualify, you must have completed 2 full academic years of post-high school study OR an associate's degree. (1 full academic year is equivalent to 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours.)
GS-05: To qualify, you must have completed 4 academic years of post-high school education leading to a bachelor's degree OR a bachelor's degree.
GS-07: To qualify, you must have completed 1 full academic year of graduate level education; or Eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement Provision and completion of a bachelor's degree.
Education
This vacancy has a positive education requirement. In order to be rated as qualified, you must provide copies of your college transcripts.
You must submit a copy of your current transcripts with major being pursued for proof of education and enrollment. If you are not currently enrolled but have been accepted for future enrollment you must submit a copy of your acceptance letter with your application.
Education must be obtained from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Foreign education must be reviewed by an organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. NOTE: This internship has a tentative start date of March/April 2023,
reporting physically to the office in Portland, OR or Vancouver, WA, and you must be a current student at that time. If you graduate before March 2023, you will not be eligible for this Pathways Internship, unless you are pursuing further education in which you will need to provide proof of enrollment or acceptance into a degree or certificate seeking program with your application.
