You will serve as an Electrical Equipment Repairer Leader in the Marine Depot Maintenance Command of MARINE DEPOT MAINTENANCE COMMAND of Marine Corps Logistics Command .

Duties

You will perform diagnoses, modification, overhaul, repair, and maintenance of a variety of electrical devices, equipment and components in support of the organization's operations. You will independently service a variety of electrical devices, equipment and components. You will dissemble, repair, modify, reassemble, and test such items as AC/DC motors, generators, starters, voltage regulators, servo-mechanisms, alternators, and transformers. You will dissemble, repair, modify, reassemble, and test such items as actuators, power control panels, control sticks, instrument panels, or inverters. You will check fields, armatures, wiring, commutators and other electrical parts for continuity, voltage drop, ground shorts, opens, and overheating. You will check and repair gears and clutches and other mechanical parts of the item being serviced/repaired. You will check shafts for clearance, balance and warpage. You will check the condition of bearings, noise filter capacitors, switches, rectifiers, variable resistors, diodes, relays, and governors.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment and annual physical examination.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain certification on soldering techniques for a wide variety of electrical and electronic equipment, components, and technologies.
