About the Position: This position is located at the U.S. Army Military Police School at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Fort Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, bordering Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2-hour drive east and Springfield is a 1-hour drive west of Fort Leonard Wood.

Duties

Perform duties as the Course Manager principal instructor for current and emerging courses in the realm of leader’s responsibilities within the Protection Warfighting Function (WFF) in the homeland and law enforcement leadership and management. Responsible for direct supervision, management, ongoing instructor training and certification. Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, the difficulty of the work to be performed, and the capabilities of employees. Promote, produce, facilitate discussions, and present valid instruction to leaders and managers within the Army Protection Program. Write and communicate advanced level philosophical and abstract concepts pertaining to the global protection program and mission. Build training execution plans and schedules to ensure high quality senior level learning. Analyze requirements, develop a training plan in concert with the priorities outlined by the Law Enforcement Operations Branch Chief and in the Program of Instruction and recommend courses of action which maximize training impact within resource and personnel constraints. Responsible for the direction of military and civilian personnel as well as providing overall guidance on the development, execution and review of training materials, instructor critique and re-training, and review of federal statutes, DoD, Army, Homeland Security, Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), and USAMPS policies and directives.

Requirements

  • This position requires the employee to be certified as a FPTD Instructor in accordance with USAMPS and FPTD Certification programs within the first 3 months of employment.
  • Incumbent may be required to travel to remote areas worldwide, possibly including combat and hostile fire zones.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the employee to be a successful graduate of the USAMPS courses assigned, but not limited to, ATOBC (Antiterrorism Officer Basic Course), CFD-IC (Common Faculty Development - Instructor Course),
  • DTMS-CM (Digital Training Management System - Course Manager), TEDMMC (Training and Education Developer Middle Managers Course), and the FPTD Certification for instructors and other military or on-line leadership and law enforcement.
  • Successful completion includes passing all requirements, demonstrated ability to execute subject matter tactics, techniques,
  • and to participate in all practical exercises to include written examinations in accordance with course student evaluation plans. Required Courses must be completed as scheduled by the Branch Chief after employment.
  • This position requires the employee to pass a pre-appointment physical and subsequent periodic medical examinations.
  • Employee may be recalled to duty from scheduled time off.
  • Employee may be required to work overtime to include weekends and federal holidays, during out of cycle or unscheduled training, or on an emergency basis.
  • This position requires the employee to drive/operate a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required and must be maintained for the position.
  • This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Abuse Testing Program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R, "Condition of employment for certain civilian positions identified as critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program,"
  • or a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
