You will serve as a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Engineering Branch, Planning Yard Design Division, Engineering and Planning Department of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will identify problems concerning NAVSEA Integrated Logistics System (ILS) and Ship's Configuration Logistics and Information System policy and procedures. You will review and analyze the data generated by Integrated Logistics Overhaul (ILO), ILR, Operational Logistics Support (OPLS) and other ILS evolution and document the recommendation directed at improving supply support. You will collect, review, analyze and create various data and reports in conjunction with the stated assignment for use in evaluating, documenting and reporting various ILS support and effectiveness and condition of Fleet units. You will review test equipment, small arms, night vision devices and RADIAC checking for availability and applicability. You will expedite critical material or configuration requirement or coordinate alternate sources of supply such as NAVSUP-Naval Supply Weapons System Support (NSWSS), Type Commander (TYCOM), Residual Asset Manager (RAMM), and other fleet assets. You will perform trend analysis on Alteration Installation Teams and recommend corrective actions and/or changes to higher authority. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.

Qualifications

For the GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing logistics management functions by researching, analyzing, and compiling logistics data of shipboard conditions to identify Integrated Logistics Support requirements and making recommendations for improvement of supply support for ship maintenance work. For the GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing logistics management functions by researching and compiling logistics data on shipboard conditions in order to identify problems with Integrated Logistics Support programs for ship maintenance work. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

For the GS-09:
  • Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree; or
  • Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree; or

  • A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience
For the GS-07
  • Successful completion of 1 full year of graduate level education; or
