About the Position: Serves as a Supervisory Criminal Investigator within the Investigations and Operations Directorate. Incumbent plans, designs, executes and evaluates overall USACIDC investigative policy and operations programs, independently determining the methods and approaches to be used.

Duties
Responsible for the strategic, initiation, direction, coordination, staff supervision and review of the CID investigative policy and operations program.
Determine the need for and development of plans to ensure the command is capable of meeting the often changing worldwide investigative needs of the Army.
Serve as the principle expert advisor to the USACID Director on all investigative policy issues and provides technical counsel and recommendations to him.
Review and research automated criminal investigative databases and other sources to determine applicability in changing or adopting new policy initiatives.
Represent the USACID at various high-level panels and conferences involving criminal investigation policy.
Manage the development of policy controlling the USACID investigative mission.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Clearance.
- Pre-employment drug screening and random testing thereafter is required.
- Pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter is required.
- This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
- Must qualify with and carry a firearm.
- This position may require travel up to 10% of the time.
- Must agree in writing to comply with management-directed permanent change of station (PCS) movement to meet mission requirements. Must sign a mobility agreement if selected.
- Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license at the time of appointment, must maintain license while employed in the position, and will be required to operate a motor vehicle.
- This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.

Specialized experience is defined as: One year specialized experience which includes work that involves planning, developing, and conducting criminal investigations, planning and directing investigative support operations and providing investigative guidance to subordinate criminal investigators. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Performance of above duties requires moderate to arduous physical exertion involving walking and standing, use of firearms, and exposure to inclement weather. Manual dexterity with comparatively free motion of finger, wrist, elbow, shoulder, hip, and knee joints is required. Arms, hands, legs, and feet must be sufficiently intact and functioning in order that the incumbent may perform the duties satisfactorily. Incumbent must possess sufficiently good vision, with or without glasses, in each eye, in order that they may perform the duties satisfactorily. Near vision, glasses permitted, must be acute for reading of printed materials the size of typewritten characters. The ability of incumbent to hear conversational voices and whispered speech is required. Any hearing impairment may be compensated for by use of a hearing aid. Since the duties of the position are exacting, responsible, and involve work performed under arduous and dangerous conditions, you must possess emotional and mental stability. Any physical condition, which would cause the applicant to be a hazard to himself/herself or to others, will disqualify him/her.

Law Enforcement Availability Pay (LEAP): LEAP in the amount of 25% has been approved for this position. Applicants must agree to work an average of two hours extra per day to meet the requirements for LEAP as described in 5 U.S.C.5545a(d)(1).
