About the Position: Incumbent will work under the supervision of the Alcohol and Drug Control Officer (ADCO). The supervisor outlines program goals and objectives, discusses specific plans and problem areas, and evaluates effectiveness of the program by results obtained.
Duties
Coordinates, administers, and monitors all aspects of the biochemical drug testing program
Reviews and interprets DOD, DA, and IMCOM program guidance, regulations and technical bulletins and develops local standing operating procedures based upon changing policies and directives for improvement and update of the program
Prepares and updates charts of monthly statistics for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required.
Provides statistical data related to biochemical testing to the ADCO.
Identifies trends of alcohol and drug usage from analysis of statistical data, making recommendations, and adjustments in the scheduling of urine testing when appropriate.
Performs related clerical and administrative assignments in support of the program by establishing and maintaining all records and files as required by DA regulations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be certified by the Department of Army Drug Testing Certification Course within 9 months of assuming duties.
- TDY may be required 10% of the time.
- The position requires heavy lifting of more than 45 lbs. Wearing of protective equip, safety glasses, etc.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience; assisting in and/or administering a biochemical drug testing or program; preparing reports related to the drug testing results and/or program; assisting in the development of training courses related to drug testing. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-06.
