This position will be assigned to the Kilmer Hall Student Activity Center on JBSA Fort Sam Houston, in San Antonio, TX. This is a regular part-time category position with guaranteed 35 hours per week, may work up to 40 hrs./week. Employees appointed to a regular category position are eligible for benefits.

Duties

Functions as the first level supervisor for the Ft Sam Houston Student Activity Center (SAC). Formulates and follows instructions/directives/policies necessary for the daily operation of the SAC with regards to personnel and customers. Responsible for scheduling, promoting, advertising and making all event reservations. Responsible for the food and beverage operation as well as Point of Sales (POS), ensuring that collection of money is correct and sales are properly recorded. Posts sales, processes credit card charges and issues receipts for all sales. Responsible for accurately recording cash, checks, and credit card purchases on support documents and turning them in as appropriate. Ensures customer service is a top priority and all employees follow the same philosophy. Represents the activity during events and programs held specifically for the students and works with senior leadership when necessary to plan, coordinate, and execute functions and visits or when dealing with student issues. Reviews the work of subordinate staff members, corrects employee problems and takes actions as appropriate. Conducts management review of patron programs to identify problems and initiate appropriate corrective measures. Responsible for inventories, equipment accounts, and AFRIMS. Reviews and understands financial reports and provides solutions to stay in the black. Responsible for project/event/program estimates and costs. Manages the Interactive Customer Evaluation (ICE) program and ensures employees and customers know how the program works. Monitors the procurement of supplies and equipment for the activity. Responsible for maintenance of equipment and maintains office areas clean and orderly. Works under the supervision of the SAC manager. Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
  • This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical. Must be able to lift up to 40lbs.
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays or special situations.
  • This position has been identified as a Test Designated Position (TDP). The incumbent of this position will be subject to and must consent to a pre-employment and random drug testing. Must have a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have work experience or education in managing/directing a student or community center activity. Must be able to manage/supervise a large entity and its personnel. Must have computer skills. be able to use internet and other programs associated with SAC operations. Experience providing training is desired. Must be a team player and be able to perform any and all duties assigned by the supervisor. Must he able to follow oral and written instructions/procedures. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: 1. Customer Service 2. Ability to do common arithmetic 3. Ability to communicate well with others 4. Knowledge of food service/Servsafe 5. Basic knowledge of computers 6.
