This Information Technology Specialist position is located in the Office of Secure Transportation, Office of Technical Services (OTS), Engineering Systems and Technology Division (ESTD), Command & Control, Communications, Computers & Cyber Branch (C5B), and conducts needs assessments and cost/benefit analyses to advise management on more efficient business processes and IT strategies.

Duties

As a Information Technology Specialist (SYSANALYSIS), you will: - Identify and recommend system requirements for personnel based on known and planned workload demands. - Evaluate and perform analysis on IT systems, programs, and strategies to identify potential risks and recommend solutions. - Assess and recommend actions to support the design and development of IT systems, networks, and interfaces. - Work with a variety of individuals from IT engineering teams, software developers, analysts, contractors, vendors, and others, to design, deploy, and support IT solutions. - Coordinate user access, testing, and configuration changes with system users and IT staff.

Qualifications

To qualify, you must possess the EXPERIENCE as described below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA Demonstration Project pay band or GS grade level in the Federal service, i.e., NQ-02, NV-03, or GS-12. Examples of Specialized Experience: 1. Evaluating and performing analysis on Information Technology (IT) systems, programs, and strategies to continuously monitor effectiveness in meeting mission requirements and evaluating risks. 2. Recommending actions to support the design and development of Information Technology (IT) systems, networks, and interfaces as they relate to meeting mission requirements. 3. Directly manages information technology projects to provide a unique service or product to meet mission requirements. 4. Consults with customers to evaluate functional requirements and translate functional requirements into technical solutions. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. CTAP/ICTAP candidates: To be considered "well qualified" you must meet all of the requirements as described in this section. If you are eligible for career transition assistance plans such as ICTAP or CTAP, you must meet the definition of "well qualified" which is defined as having a score of 85 or better. You must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
