You will serve as a ENGINEERING EQUIPMENT OPERATOR SUPERVISOR in the Plans and External Affairs Department, Range Management Division, of MCAS BEAUFORT SC

Duties

You will plan and lay out modifications and repair of target systems and land development. You will demonstrate the skills of the maintenance mechanic trade methods and techniques. You will provide a high degree of managerial skills related to the management of the range maintenance program. You will analyze organizational and operational problems to develop timely and economical solutions. You will coordinate and integrate work activities and resources for several work projects. You will use software (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) to perform administrative duties. You will be assign work to junior employees based on priorities, selective consideration of difficulty, requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of the employee. You will perform periodic performance evaluations and counsel employees on areas needing improvements. You will recommend appointment, promotion, and assignment of employees to higher levels of supervision.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • Employee is required to take the necessary training to obtain a Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License with a Tanker and Hazardous Material endorsement within 90 days of employment.
  • This position is designated a key position in accordance with DOD Directive 1200.7.
  • The use of safety equipment or protective clothing is required to use when appropriate and authorized by the Range Safety Officer
  • You will be required to work is performed inside and outside, inside will be normal office conditions. Incumbent may be exposed to all kinds of weather including extended periods of exposure to hot and cold temperatures.
  • This position is subjected to dust, dirt, oil, and unpleasant odors, as well as fumes, flames and the possibility of wild fire suppression, etc.
  • This position requires situational awareness in order to avoid falling on wet, slippery surfaces.
  • You will be subject to cuts, bruises, broken bones, etc. as a result of accidents while operating heavy equipment or performing target and facility maintenance.
  • You will be subject to operating vehicles on unstable land, falls when working from ladders and scaffolds, venomous insects, burns from hot material and broken bones working around heavy equipment
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal
