About the Position: This position is within the Directorate of Industrial Operations at Letterkenny Army Depot located in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
Duties
Repair moderately complex electronic components such as, circuit cards and RF antenna elements.
Operate a variety of electronic test instruments such as, oscilloscopes, signal generators, network analyzers, etc.
Assess deficiencies in electronic equipment to determine economic feasibility of repair.
Perform soldering per current specifications.
Interpret technical documentation, such as schematics, drawings, block diagrams, etc., to determine proper tolerances.
Provide technical advice during all developmental stages of new electronic systems, such as planning, design and layout.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Must be willing to undergo a physical examination initially, and annually thereafter.
- Appointment may be subject to a one-year probationary period.
- Must be willing to able to obtain and maintain both J-Standard and IPC Solder Certifications for the duration of employment.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Electronics Mechanic without more than normal supervision. Have the ability to perform common Electronics Mechanic duties, such as: repairing, maintaining, troubleshooting, cleaning and testing a variety of moderately complex electronic circuit cards and RF antenna elements; repairing moderately complex electronic components such as, circuit cards and RF antenna elements; assessing deficiencies in electronic equipment to determine economic feasibility of repair and perform soldering per current specifications. Operate a variety of electronic test instruments such as, oscilloscopes, signal generators, network analyzers, etc.; interpret technical documentation, such as schematics, drawings, block diagrams, etc., to determine proper tolerances; and provide technical advice during developmental stages of new electronic systems, such as planning, design and layout. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

PHYSICAL EFFORT
Work assignments require light physical effort. Work involves sitting for extended periods. Frequent standing and bending is required. Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is normally in well lighted, heated and ventilated shop area. Subject to cuts, bruises, burns, and shock caused by handling equipment, soldering irons, high voltage energy, etc.
