About the Position: This position is with the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Installation Support Division (ISD)
This position is being filled as an Administrative Services Assistant (OA) DK-0303-3 (GS 6-7).
Duties
Provides customer service and communicate clearly and interact via face-to-face, telephone, email, and other modes of communication.
Organizes and prepares approval material for processes such as conferences, official correspondence, training, and foreign travel as required.
Responds to phone, fax, email, and other correspondence. You will prepare, process, and post travel orders, government vehicle requests, and travel vouchers for Branch staff.
Verifies time and attendance using the automated Corps of Engineers Financial Management System (CEFMS), ensuring availability of funds and accurate timekeeping and leave reporting by staff.
Maintains leave, travel, and telework status of all branch members on a shared calendar. You will also use Microsoft Outlook or similar systems to coordinate and schedule branch activities, meetings, activities as required.
Maintains branch files as required by applicable regulations. You will format, print, route and mail documents and correspondence as requested.
Uses automated Purchase Request and Commitments (PRandC's) to order supplies.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which include: Preparing written correspondence, making travel arrangements, and using automated systems to prepare reports, presentations and spreadsheets. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service DK-2 (GS-05).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent DK-2 (GS-5).

This position is covered by the Science and Technology Laboratory Personnel Management Demonstration Project at the DK-0303-3 (equivalent to GS-6 to GS-7). In accordance with the Federal Register Vol. 63, No. 57, dated March 25, 1998, an employee of the Laboratory Demonstration project must have a current average performance score of 2.5 or above in order to be selected for promotion. All applicants currently employed under a Laboratory Demonstration Project must include their most recent performance appraisal score as part of their electronic resume.
