Duties

Serving as a Program Analyst GS-0343-9 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. This position is located in the Training Resource Scheduling Branch (TRSB), Training Resource Coordination Division (TRC), under the Training Management Operations Directorate (TMO), and located in Glynco, Georgia. The primary purpose of this position is to provide analytical support in the quarterly scheduling process of all center, basic, integrated basic, agency-specific basic, center advanced, and agency advanced training programs conducted by the FLETC at the Glynco Training Delivery Point (TDP). Typical duties include: Charting and scheduling specific training resources for training program classes and other non-training related events at Glynco by determining specific requirements based on needs, interests, and level of detail needed to satisfy a wide variety of user requirements. Reviewing, checking, and interpreting various sources of data within various software systems to obtain accurate, relevant information on factors such as training priorities, course programs of instruction, class size and type of resources required to meet training needs. Providing support for a variety of management studies involving FLETC and Partner Organization (PO) efficiencies, reductions, organizational realignments, training workload, mission changes, and training realignments. Providing data relating to workload issues and functions by applying established techniques to gather narrative or statistical information involving the improved allocation of training resources. Advising team lead, supervisor, FLETC staff, Participating Organization staff and contractors concerning assignment and use of resources, requirements, directives and policies. Preparing updates and distributing reports and other scheduling documents to other FLETC divisions, PO and contractors. Requirements

  • Current and former federal employees within the General Schedule (GS) must meet the time-in-grade requirements outlined in the "Qualifications" section of this announcement.
  • Bargaining Unit: This is a bargaining unit covered position, represented under the National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU).
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state issued driver's license to conduct official government business.
  • You will need to set up direct deposit so we can pay you.
  • This position is eligible for telework based on agency policy.
  • This position is designated as Emergency Essential. You will be required to sustain FLETC operations in the event of a localized situation, such as inclement weather, interruptions to power, or dismissal or closure of DHS operations or services.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Overtime may be required.

You qualify at the GS-09 grade level if you possess one of the following: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in Federal service, performing the following duties: 1) Applying analytical techniques and/or evaluative methods to conduct studies regarding administrative matters; 2) Identifying solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations; 3) Allocating training venues and resources in accordance with policy and agency needs; 4) Utilizing computer software to prepare reports concerning facility utilization efficiencies.; OR A master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related ; OR A combination of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience as described above that, when combined, equal 100% of the total requirement. This will be calculated using your resume and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application. NOTE: Only graduate education in excess of the first year may be used to qualify for the GS-09 level. All qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement. Note: Current or former Federal employees MUST submit a copy of their SF-50 Form which shows competitive service appointment ("position occupied" block 34 on the SF-50 should show a "1"), tenure group (block 24 should show a 1 or 2), grade, and salary.
