You will serve as a Supervisory General Supply Specialist in the Industrial Support Department, Advanced Traceability and Control (ATAC) Division, Customer Support. The department proactively serves as the single provider for all New Construction (NC) and Repair & Modernization (R&M) Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) for all Combatant Afloat Units of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER NORFOLK.

Duties

You will serve as a principal advisor and will interface with the applicable departments or commands to identify and resolve program problems affecting repairable processing. You will assist with the development of ATAC Norfolk's financial, personnel and material requirements, continually studies the efficiency and effectiveness of the operation, and recommends corrective actions You will provide instructions and technical support concerning necessary specialized requirements. You will be responsible for progressing and accomplishing the ATAC Norfolk mission and planning and directing its operations

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:I have one year of General Supply Specialist specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing General Supply Specialist work applying an in-depth knowledge of Advanced Traceability and Control (ATAC) programs with adequate research supporting availability to identify and resolve potential file discrepancies and coordinating actions with the applicable department or command when inventory adjustments are required. I have experience participating in studies on ATAC program to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of the program and recommend corrective action. I have a comprehensive background in processing repairable components to include experience with the maintenance and tracking of DLR carcass tracking sufficient to manage and progress the ATAC Program. I have performed leadership functions such as identifying, distributing and balancing workload; provide training or arrange for the training of team members; and monitoring and reporting on the status and progress of work. Examples of specialized experience must include 1) I apply a detailed working knowledge of all operations within the ATAC Program and an in-depth comprehension of its relation to the repair process for completion of DLR inductions and interface with eRMS; 2) Ensures that resource requirements and procedural changes are identified in sufficient time to enable a smooth transition to the new ATAC Information Techlnology system requirements;3) Propose/recommend Information Technology system enhancements and revisions prior to implementation to determine the impact on ATAC procedures and resources; 4) Provides instructions and technical support concerning necessary specialized requirements, especially those concerning interface with Information Technology (IT) systems such as the electronic Retrograde Management System (eRMS) and any IT initiatives or programs; and 5) Creates plans to improve production or increase the quality of the work directed; develops performance standards.
