You will serve as a General Supply Specialist in the Operations Department of NAVSUP FLC NORVA GF.

Duties

You will provide supply support coordination for both local and visiting units as assigned, and provide port visit guidance and support as needed. You will assist with transportation requirements for obtaining vehicles, and coordination of material movement as necessary. You will visit and communicate with assigned ships in port daily; receive, analyze, and respond to requests for logistics support. You will accept requests for assistance and suggestions from assigned units, analyze service providers' support methods to determine deficiencies and recommend possible improvements.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying a practical knowledge of well-established and commonly applied supply principles, concepts and methodologies in order to perform General Supply Specialist work investigating, analyzing, and resolving supply operations/management and inventory problems related to a variety of supply requirements in support of US Navy Ships to include husbanding, port operations, hazardous materials, subsistence, and other shore infrastructure. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Provide units with procedures for using the Logistic Support Center (LSC), assist with parts ordering, coordinating material manifesting and delivery, and assisting with material turn-in.; 2) Market and coordinate supply and logistic services and will provide information such as: material delivery and transportation, subsistence material ordering and delivery procedure, ship's store material ordering and delivery procedures, hazardous material/hazardous waste delivery and offload, husbanding services including cranes, pier movement and other pier services; 3) Reviews outstanding requisitions with long lead times and coordinates delivery from alternate sources of supply. 4) Provide assistance directly to fleet units or acts as an interface with other sources of information to provide answers to unit's questions. 5) Knowledge and experience in providing general Naval shipboard support. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:master's or equivalent graduate degree
